New Delhi (ABC Live India): Oxidative Stress in COVID-19 : World is fighting war against COVID-19 without having definite line of treatment or vaccine and only using preventive measures like Social distancing to keep Corona virus away from people.
All National health systems are using symptomatic treatment for stable patients and ventilators for critical patients considering them as pneumonic ignoring the major symptom which resemble High Altitude Sickness not Pneumonia.
Dr. Cameron Kyle-Sidell, a New York based doctor treating COVID-19 patients in New York City’s Maimonides Medical Center revealed that he is treating COVID-19 patients and noticed that line of treatment adopted by all the national health systems including United States seem to be wrong, as we are not getting the desirable results by keeping the patients on ventilators.
According to Dr. Cameron COVID-19 causes prolonged and progressive hypoxia by binding to the heme groups in haemoglobin in red blood cells. He further shared that most of the Covid-19 deaths occur due to multi organ failure instead of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) or Pneumonia.
According to experts examination of CT scan of COVID-19 patients unambiguously revealed that lungs of COVID-19 patient are damaged due to oxidative stress, as the oxygen pumped into lungs by Ventilators did not transmit to cell level which eventually led to multi organ failure and ultimately to the death.
According to the Research Study conducted by Department of Internal Medicine, Chungnam National University Medical School, Daejeon, Korea on Impact of oxidative stress on lung diseases, “Oxidative stress is a deleterious process that leads to lung damage and consequently to various disease states. Knowledge of the mechanisms of ROS regulation could lead to the pharmacological manipulation of antioxidants in lung inflammation and injury.”
Further a research study conducted by the Department of Cell Biology, University of Salzburg, Hellbrunnerstrasse, titled Oxidative Stress and the Homeodynamics of Iron Metabolism concluded that “Iron and oxygen share a delicate partnership since both are indispensable for survival, but if the partnership becomes inadequate, this may rapidly terminate life. Virtually all cell components are directly or indirectly affected by cellular iron metabolism, which represents a complex, redox-based machinery that is controlled by, and essential to, metabolic requirements. Under conditions of increased oxidative stress—i.e., enhanced formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS)—however, this machinery may turn into a potential threat, the continued requirement for iron promoting adverse reactions such as the iron/H2O2-based formation of hydroxyl radicals, which exacerbate the initial pro-oxidant condition.”
According to Dr. P D Gupta, an Indian Doctor who had put his whole life in the field of Indigenous Medical Research by adopting alternate medicines while talking to ABC Live India in year 2014 told that, “Our body has silver receptors which carry oxygen from muscles to cell Level the deficiency of silver in our body creates hurdles in movement of electrons from lungs to Cell level and thus disturbs the metabolism of human body which leads to weakening of immune system thus invites diseases.”
According to medical experts, treating the COVID-19 patients, the recovered patients after recovery are showing symptoms of Delayed post-hypoxic leukoencephalopathy (DPHL) which further substantiates that COVID-19 patients are suffering from hypoxia despite no signs of respiratory ‘tire out’ or fatigue.
The need of hour is, to put our all efforts to develop an alternate line of treatment based upon alternate medicine which can work on How to transmit oxygen from Lungs to cell level on the basis of above mentioned medical research studies and expert opinion first shared by Dr. P D Gupta in year 2014, and now by Dr. Cameron Kyle-Sidell on the basis of his treatment of COVID-19 patients.
A serious and sincere effort on this research may pave way for devising the definite line of treatment until vaccine for novel coronavirus becomes a reality for COVID-19 hit world.
