Merger of HDFC Bank and Centurion Bank of Punjab on Cards

Mumbai(ABC Live):It has finally been confirmed that HDFC Bank and Centurion Bank of Punjab is going to be merged. After merger it will be bigger than ICICI in terms of branch network. The Centurion Bank of Punjab has its large presence in the North and in Kerala after its merger with Lord Krishna Bank in 2006.

After merger it will be bigger than ICICI in terms of branch network. The Centurion Bank of Punjab has its large presence in the North and in Kerala after its merger with Lord Krishna Bank in 2006.

While talking unofficially with our correspondence one of the senior officer of HDFC Bank opined that in near terms this merger will be more beneficial for the of Centurion Bank of Punjab than HDFC.

This is a welcome step which came at appropriate time when most of the financial institutions are feeling heat of industrial slow down.

It will ensure not only better services to customers but also significant increase in the profitability of the bank, further there will be more merger, acquisition or consolidation among financial institutions on the cards in near future.
