New Delhi (ABC Live India): The Day 258 Report of COVID-19: Today was the 258 day of India’s Fight against Coronavirus: ABC Research Report.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family welfare till 8 AM of 07/12/2020, there are 396729       active cases, 9139901 COVID-19 patients have been discharged and 140573 persons lost their lives in India till 8 AM of 07/12/2020.

On the testing capacity of India, the ICMR in its daily report on 07/12/2020 that a total of 14,77,87,656 have been conducted in India till 9 AM of 06/12/2020. Further, the ICMR reported that 8,01,081 new samples were taken during the last 24 hours.

The Following is the List of Actions/ announcements made by the Government of India along with Updates from Indian Courts of law, NHRC, RBI, SEBI, TRAI & IRDA on 07/12/2020

  1. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued Updates on COVID-19

  3. The ICMR stated that till date, 311 RT-PCR kits have been evaluated by ICMR validation centres, and the following were found to be satisfactory.
  4. The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare stated that 5089 MT of copra (the perennial crop) having MSP value of Rs.52.40 crore has been procured benefitting 3961 farmers in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu up to 06.12.2020 as against the last year corresponding purchase of 293.34 MT of copra. In respect of Copra and Urad, rates are ruling above MSP in most of the major producing States. The respective State/UTs Governments are making necessary arrangements for commencement of procurement from the date as decided by the respective States based on the arrivals in respect of Kharif Pulses and Oilseeds.
  5. The NITI Aayog vice Chairman stated that the economy post-COVID has been in the recovery mode after the first quarter and hoped that Indian economy will bounce back in next few quarters from the effects of COVID-19 disruptions, will grow by average 7-8 percent in next 20-30 years and become the third-largest economy by 2047.
