Modi’s Clear Vision to Revive Indian Economy Impresses Germany

New Delhi (ABC Live):Germany’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mr Frank-Walter Steinmeier leading a 12-member Business Delegtion today held one hour long talks with Minister of Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu on bilateral cooperation in areas pertaining to urban development in India.

Mr. Steinmeier during the course of talks observed that ‘Germany is impressed by the clear vision and resolve of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to revive the economy of the country. Prime Minister is impressive both in his words and deeds.’ Referring to his meeting with the Prime Minister today morning, the German Minister informed that India would be a partner country for the ‘Hanover Fair’ to be organized in April next year. He further said that this international fair would focus on clean energy, skill development, cleaning of rivers and infrastructure development.

Welcoming the delegation, Shri Naidu said that India’s efforts for converting growing urbanization into an engine of economic growth offered immense opportunity for bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He urged the business delegation to explore investment opportunities in various projects like the Smart Cities, Urban Rejuvenation of 500 identified Urban Habitations and Urban Housing.

Mr. Steinmeier said concrete investment proposals would be formulated after exchange of business delegations between the two countries. He said Germany can benefit from the young and skilled manpower of India.

Representatives of various companies shared their experiences of operating in India and said they are keen to further expand their operations in the context of emerging opportunities.
