Execution of Sarabjit Delayed Till April 30

New Delhi(ABC Live): Death sentence of Indian prisoner has been delayed till April 30, informed the Union External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today in the Lok Sabha. Earlier Sarabjeet was scheduled to be hanged on April 1

New Delhi(ABC Live): Death sentence of Indian prisoner has been delayed till April 30, informed the Union External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today in the Lok Sabha. Earlier Sarabjit was scheduled to be hanged on April 1, after found guilty in bomb blasts in Pakistan in 1990 who have been in Pakistani jails for more than 10 years.

According to local reports Pakistan's Human Rights Minister Ansar Burney has sent a request to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf that to be lenient in Sarabjit case and also sent a request to convert the death penalty to life imprisonment.

Indian government has formally sought clemency for Sarabjit Singh as to maintain the atmosphere of peace and friendship between the two countries.
