According to information with Indian Media V K Malhotra has categorically declared that if he will become CM of state than he will clear file related to Afzal’s mercy petition with Delhi government for last one year in a day to make way for his death sentence to execute.
It is to mention that after Supreme Court of India had put its seal over Afzal’s capital punishment, the main convict of Dec 13, 2001, attack on the Indian Parliament, put his mercy petition to President of India through Delhi Government which is not clear and forwarded to home ministry yet even after more than one year.
It is to remember that after clearance of Home ministry, finally it will reach to President of India office for final consideration of mercy to him.
Mohammad Afzal presently lodged in Jail No 3 in Tihar prison of New Delhi in his recorded statement has expressed his will to decide on his mercy petition early as he has fed up with waiting for hanging day.
He hoped that emergence of Malhotra as Chief Minster of Delhi and BJP leader LK Advani become prime minister of India will help his cause to find final on his mercy petition.
