Pappu Yadav gets Life term in Ajit Sarkar’s murder case
New Delhi (ABC Live): The criminal-turned-politician RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav sentenced to Life Imprisonment in MLA Ajit Sarkar’s murder case by CBI court.
New Delhi (ABC Live): The criminal-turned-politician RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav sentenced to Life Imprisonment in MLA Ajit Sarkar’s murder case by CBI court. Earlier CBI judge B M Srivastava reserved his judgment after hearing final argument.

Yadav, Tiwari and Anil Yadav who also accused in Sarkar’s murder case were present in the court. They were separately under trial of CBI court and this judgment did not cover them.
Pappu Yadav requested for mercy after the judge pronounced the sentence “I have been through severe mental and physical torture in jail and even had to spend time in a mental asylum. Please show leniency and commute my punishment,” Yadav was said to have requested the judge in the courtroom, which was barred to the media.
“You always have the option of moving the superior court for relief,” the judge replied
Pappu Yadav started his political carrier in 1995 as an independent from Purnia and got seat in 1996 and 1999. He was arrested on 24th May, 1999 in connection with the Ajit Sarkar murder case.
Pappu Yadav’s wife who is Lok Sabha member from Saharsa Ranjita Ranjan was not present at the time of judgment.
