Patana(ABC Live): The most wanted accused in Bihar flood relief scam Nidhi Jha surrendered after hide and seek period of two years on Tuesday before the Special Vigilance Court.

Nidhi Jha misuses the public funds during relief work in north Bihar in 2004. She was also wanted in some financial matters. She was sent to judicial custody for two days after surrender.

Last year court issued non-bailable for Nidhi Jha’s arrest. She is considered a close connection with Santosh Kumar Jha, a relief material supplier and assumed key player behind the cheating of over Rs.175 million meant for flood relief.

The matter of misusing the public funds came in to light in 2005 Patna district magistrate Gautam Goswami, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, figured in the irregularities.
