The order to this effect was issued by Modi led BJP government last week it says people residing in SEZ will use liquor after getting liquor card by paying Rs 500 for three years.

As per these new guidelines any one above the age of 21 years can apply for liquor card valid only inside the SEZ.

The special mention for business meets is made in these guidelines which also allow non liquor cards holders from outside Gujarat to drink liquor in SEZ in these meets within SEZ area after taking permission from state concerned authorities in advance.

It is mentioned here that 15 SEZs are expected to come into existence in the span of two to three year time in every corner of Gujarat.

This partial allow to liquor usage in the state which has official kept prohibition since Independence in pursuance of Mahatma Gandhi’s dream to make India free from Liquor items is deep shock to all those who are working for liquor free society in India.
