EC Declares Poll dates For Karnataka Assembly Elections

New Delhi (ABC Live): The Election Commission of India on Wednesday declared Karnataka Assembly elections dates.

As per EC announced schedule lections will be held in three phases on following dates May 10, 16 and 22 and counting of votes will done on May 25.

 The phase first will cover 89 constituencies, second phase 66 constituencies and 69 constituencies will vote on third and final phase of voting.

Chief Election Commissioner N Goplaswamy while giving the detail on this effect  he told Media that the model code of conduct will come into force from immediate effect.

He further clarified that as poll schedule is going to complete on May 25 thus president has to extend the President’s Rule in state till formation of new Government in Karnataka
