New Delhi(ABC Live): Today Sonia Gandhi completed ten years as president of congress party. Party workers celebrated this movement by dancing on the drum beats and distributing sweets, they were also shouting slogans like ‘Sonia Gandhi Zindabad’.

Born in an Italian village 57 years ago Sonia weaved a remarkable way to a place in history by becoming the President of India's century-old Congress party and holding this position successfully for ten years.

After Annie Beasant and Nelli Sengupta, Sonia Gandhi is the third women of foreign origin who has hold this top position in congress party.

Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh was the first person to congratulate her at her residence.

She was instrumental in bringing nation wide schemes to provide guaranteed job to Indian rurals. Sonia Devised under the name of National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme. Apart from doing these developmental suggestions to her government one thing she has done, which earlier congress presidents could not be able to perform or hard to perform, the prefect balance between organization and governance.

When in 2004 congress party got chance to govern India after the span of eight years long exile, amid her foreign origin queries, she slipped a chance to govern the largest democracy of the world.

After that she quickly devises a perfect mechanism between congress party she heads and the government which Man Mohan Singh runs. This successful and more than four year tested mechanism shows to all other political parties a way to run party as well as government.

As in most of Indian political parties’ cases either party becomes stronger or government becomes weak. In case of national party like BJP, regional parties like BSP, Shiv Sena, BJD, and INLD where party and governance have no clear cut demarcation that where governance ends and party starts.

The micro analysis of more than four years congress governance it has not been seen a single incident of confliction between Man Mohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi. Every time when congress government look towards her for her assistance she assures her support not only within congress party but also garner the crucial support of its allies parties specifically Left parties.

Last but not the least, emergence of Sonia Gandhi in Congress has boosted women authority over politics as she has opted more women to authority seats within government and party organization like Ambika Soni, Margret Alva, Kumai Selja, Jayanti Natrajan, Sheela Dixit and Renuka Chaudhry.
