New Delhi (ABC Live): Indian Union Cabinet on Friday decided to bring an ordinance to hike the salaries of Chief Justice of India, judges of the Supreme Court, Chief Justices and judges of High Courts.

It is to mention here that bill to hike salaries of Indian Higher Judiciary was not passed along with eight bills in 17 minutes on last day of recently concluded monsoon session due to absence of Law Minister H R Bhardwaj.

The revised salary of the Chief Justice of India would be Rs one lakh per month and Rs 90,000 per month for the judges of the apex court.

Chief Justices of High Courts would draw monthly salary of Rs 90,000 while the judges of these courts would receive Rs 80,000 per month.

This rectification move by UPA government is seen as corrective measures to satisfy all mighty Indian Judiciary near to general elections along with government employees whose salaries have already hiked after Sixth Pay Commission implementations.

The Absence of Indian Law minister on last day of monsoon session raised eye brows of many judicial luminaries because of importance of judiciary in Indian democracy.

The question in political circles asks whether Bhardwaj was absent as Indian democratic leaders usably do in parliament or it was deliberately done to convey some political message to Indian judiciary by Indian legislative and executives to show their power in check and mate game of Indian democracy among three inter dependable pillars.

But in days of extreme political rivalry UPA government could not take risk to hamper its relations with all mighty Indian Judiciary in case of any controversies, the possibilities of these are at high because of political transition phase.
