New Delhi (ABC Live): Samajwadi Party General Secretary and spokesperson Amar Singh on Wednesday resigned from party posts due to his differences with party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

New Delhi (ABC Live): Samajwadi Party General Secretary and spokesperson Amar Singh on Wednesday resigned from party posts due to his differences with party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Information and confirmation to this effect was made by Amar Singh that he has faxed his resignation with immediate effect to Mulayam Singh Yadav citing health reasons for his inability to carry out party responsibilities further.

Amar Singh clarified that he will remain an ordinary worker of Samajwadi Party and has requested the SP chief to make Ram Gopal Yadav the party's national spokesperson in his place.

It is to mention that Ties between Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh soared after humiliating defeat in the Lok Sabha by-election in Firozabad and said to be behind this move.
