New Delhi (ABC Live): Jimmy Wales, the founder of world famed online encyclopedia, Wikipedia has been accused content tampering in lieu of $5000 donation in Wikipedia.

Jimmy Wales is a one of the persons who dreamed and founded online encyclopedia in 2001 the era when internet was searching for reliable and universal accessible online resources for its users.

The accusation has came from Jeffrey Merkey, a former Novell Chief scientist who states that he made donation of $5000 to Wikipedia foundation in lieu to write off some adverse contents on   Wikipedia about him.

Merkey says that Jimmy Wales agreed to him to use his authority over Wikipedia to struck of adverse entries on his pages and tag it in category of ‘ protected Page’ where entry can only be done by Wikipedia authorities itself.  

After verifying the fact it can be seen that content had been edited by Wales and the page was tag as protected one but after this controversy page is again open for universal editing.

On other side of the News Jimmy Wales described it a non sense

Allegation and categorical stated that he was never offered or accepted any donation in exchange of editorial favor in Wikipedia.

On the reliability question he has left on onliners to decide the

Wikipedia, once accredited as reliable online resource on internet to gets first hand knowledge on most of issues concerned with personal to public domains in multilingual contents.

But his popularity among internet users world wide make Wiki authorities to depend on region wise editors and contribution from users shows down wards trend after editors some time over rule entries made by users other than making it unbiased.

 As it is big concern for developing nations like India where internet is going to public and novice users can be face info- clashes, which can shatter their faith on online media if once they will find information fake.
