New York (ABC Live): The Pope Benedict XVI‘s first ever visit as pontiff is scheduled in April, 2008 when on April16, Pope will reach in New York.

New York (ABC Live): The Pope Benedict XVI‘s first ever visit of United States as pontiff is scheduled in April, 2008 when on April16, Pope will reach in New York.

As per reports avail to ABC live he will meet in New York with different religious group. But Sikh delegation who has earlier plan to meet him will not meet Pope Benedict XVI in Washington as authorities have asked members of delegation not carry Kirpans with them while meeting pope.

As per religious Sikh, Satnam Singh a resident of New York termed it unfortunate and against the spirit of mission ‘The importance of faith and reason in reaching shared goals’ on which trip of Vatican trip has planned.

The Pope will carry forward his discussion with President Bush which they remained uncompleted during Vatican visit of President on ‘The importance of faith and reason in reaching shared goals’

The pope Address to United Nations in New York is also in his itinerary.

Mentioned here that According to Sikh Reht Maryada (religious Code of Conduct) only those who will fallow this code of conduct will be term as Sikh. These are as fallows

3. Kangha(Comb)

4. Kara( Steel bracelet)

5. Kachha(Drawers)

6. Kirpan(Ceremonial Sword)

When ABC live Talked to various religious Sikh leaders they have same opinions that if Pope is to meet a Sikh without Kirpan than he will not be able to meet a Sikh who fallows that official code of conduct to be declare as true Sikh.
